Workplace Spanish®:

Lack of clear communication in the workplace is frustrating, costly and sometimes even dangerous.  In many occupations and professions, it's an absolute necessity to be able to communicate with Spanish-speakers who do not speak English. You don't have to be fluent to communicate effectively. The Workplace Spanish® courses focus on the "bite-size" terms and phrases that allows you to get your message, question or response across. 

There are many benefits to learning Workplace Spanish®:

Basic Welding:

Participants in this Welding Course will be given instruction in welding processes used in the Huron Area. The course is made up of classroom activities and welding lab activities. The classroom portion consists of lecture, video, worksheets, and quizzes. The Lab portion consists of MIG welding demonstrations and student practice. Students will also be given course work and instruction in industrial math, blue print reading, and welding symbols.


First Time Home Buyers Seminar:

The course is offered in cooperation with the Huron Housing Authority for first time home buyers and will be offered with a Spanish intrepreter. The topics covered will include: choosing a mortgage that is right for you, knowing and understanding your credit, opening the door to a home of your own, borrowing basics-what you don’t know can hurt you.


Commercial Drivers License:

This course is designed to provide all of the information necessary to pass the written CDL test and obtain a CDL permit. The class will cover general knowledge, air brakes and combination vehicles. Tankers, doubles/triples, and HazMat endorsements are available.


Supervisor Training:

WHAT HAPPENS TO YOUR BUSINESS IF YOUR FRONT LINE SUPERVISORS DON’T PERFORM WELL?  WHO HAS THE GREATEST IMPACT ON EMPLOYEE RETENTION AND PRODUCTIVITY IN YOUR BUSINESS?  WE ALL KNOW THE ANSWERS TO THESE QUESTIONS.  We are all interested in developing top line supervisors because they are the answer to the answer to the above questions.  The course will help develop your front line supervisors to make your company run smoothly.


Basic Electricity:

This course covers basic electricity knowledge including Ohm’s Law, using a digital meter, checking for voltage, and resistor color code. Students will also learn how relays, IC chips, diodes, and transistors work. The curriculum will cover the difference current and voltage, the difference between AC/DC current, and checking TVS. Class instruction will offer principles in troubleshooting that are applicable to the home and workplace.


Email Etiquette:

Most businesses use email as a primary source of communication. This class will teach you how to effectively communicate via email in a professional and courteous manner to improve your company and business message.


Sexual Harassment:

This course offers training on sexual harassment in the workplace. You will learn the behaviors that may constitute sexual harassment and why defining it is so difficult, what to do if you think you may have offended, and the effects it has on the targets and organization involved.


Work Place Violence Prevention:

This course helps to define workplace violence and the warning signs and profiles. You will learn learn the prevention tips, what to do if you notice warning signs, and how violence strikes in the place of employment.


Employee Diversity in the Workplace:

Discussion and information on the nature of diversity and discrimination. Participants will learn to identify the subtle forms of discrimination and how to promote “mutual respect” in the working environment.


Blue Print Reading Course:

Blueprint Reading course provides participants with the training they need to read standard engineering drawings with a special emphasis on section drawings, special parts features, and holes and threads. Each class is individualized based on employer needs.

Business and Industrial Math

Business and Industrial Math offer a step-by-step approach to mastery of the basic mathematical principles essential for solving problems encountered in the industrial workplace. The class offers a special emphasis on fractions and decimals.

An assessment that assists employers in building a quality affordable workforce that has a quality customer service culture. The ERI will assist businesses in improving the hiring process, profitability, and productivity.

Basics of Using an Interpreter:

This course is designed to help any business or organization that uses an interpreter. Participants will learn what is and is not the role of their interpreter. The course will offer protocol for arranging your interpreter sessions, the two types of intrepretation, and understanding the code of ethics.


Business Training Program:

The Business Training Program incorporates an innovative four-phase sixteen week training program that culminates with an internship.
